Research
The Cooperative Education & Internship Association is dedicated to fostering research that will advance work-integrated education. Research is necessary to enhance the professional development of the membership, advance the knowledge base, document ˆ£best practicesˆ§ and innovations, as well as strengthen collaboration with our faculty partners.
To support its research mission, the CEIA publishes the Journal of Cooperative Education & Internships, recognizes outstanding research contributions with the James W. Wilson and Ralph W. Tyler Awards, and occasionally publishes books, surveys and other materials germane to the profession. More information on the research endeavors of the CEIA can be obtained by contacting the Research Committee or the Vice President for Research and Information.
In 2002 the Cooperative Education and Internship Association, Inc. (CEIA) conducted a survey of cooperative education and internship programs. The purpose was to compile information on critical issues in the field and trends that have been emerging since 1998. It is imperative that a professional field develops information that will identify trends, provide materials for public information and enable practitioners to benchmark their programs.
