As you move through phases of your professional journey, having a good awareness of your interests and skills will help you set goals for the next phase. This session will provide prompts for you to reflect and tease out your next-step professionals goals and leadership opportunities.

10:00 AM Break

10:15 AM Advocate…For You and Your Office

A major part of professional development for work-integrated learning practitioners is building partnerships and managing relationships. In order to advance in your professional development journey, you will want to zero in on how the goals of your office in engaging students in work-integrated learning opportunities tie in to help advance the goal attainment of both your broader division and organization. In this session, industry veterans will talk you through managing up, building support across your organization and leveraging your allies.

Noon Lunch

12:30 PM Inspire…..Your Team

Taking a leadership approach, regardless of your position in the organization, will earn you respect. In this session, presenters will provide insight into demonstrating great leadership skills and integrity in the workplace and the art of hiring good team members; as either the hiring manager or search committee member.

2 PM Action Planning

A key part of ensuring that you put what you learned into practice post-conference is thinking through your implementation. Presenters will walk you through an exercise to develop post-conference strategies for you to commit to action.
