The following events are available to conference attendees for Monday evening.  Please note tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Payment must be made in advance of the event.

Alexandria History Walking Tour

Monday, April 13, 2026

Meet at Market Square, 301 King St., at 5:15 pm EDT

Cost: $30 (does not include transportation from hotel)

Advance sign up and payment required.

Join Alexandria History Tours for a professionally guided walk through Old Town Alexandria’s historic brick and cobblestone streets. Discover the origins of Alexandria as a bustling port town that was established in 1749 on the Potomac River. Walk in George Washington’s footsteps and see his hometown! We will dive into the incredible history of historic taverns like Gadsby’s Tavern where early American presidents wined and dined. The tour will show beautiful homes like the Carlyle House mansion, which was built from locally sourced stone in 1750 and played a major role in the French and Indian War, Revolutionary War, and Civil War. The tour will also visit historic Christ Church where 12 American presidents sat in the box pew that was owned by George Washington. Tour guests will also have the chance to sit in George Washington’s box pew!  

This easy 1.25-mile tour blends big national history with local stories, humor, and hidden gems that most visitors miss. You’ll have time for photos, questions, and real conversation with expert guides who make the past engaging and fun.

Alexandria History Tours was founded by Marine Corps veteran and local historian Tim Rose. Tim’s goal was to offer an authentic, story-driven experience that helps people truly understand why Alexandria mattered in American history and why it is still important today. This guided tour is a unique opportunity to make your time in Alexandria memorable!

  • Transportation is not provided for this event. 
  • Be sure to dress appropriately.  You will be taking a 1.25-mile leisurely walk through historic Old Town

Monuments by Moonlight Tour

The Monuments by Moonlight trolley tour turns an evening in Washington, DC into something unforgettable. As the sun sets, the city’s iconic memorials and monuments take on a dramatic glow, creating stunning backdrops for photos and quiet moments of reflection. Over about two and a half hours you’ll ride in a comfortable, open-air trolley past the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, FDR Memorial, Iwo Jima Marine Corps Memorial, the White House and more, all beautifully illuminated against the night sky. Knowledgeable local guides share engaging stories and historical insights, making this more than just a sightseeing trip but a richer way to experience the history and heart of the nation’s capital. Many riders call it a highlight of their visit and a perfect mix of atmosphere, history, and easy-going fun.
