The Bard College Experiential Learning Lab (BELL) is an innovative study away program in New York City for advanced undergraduates eager to apply their liberal arts education to careers in the arts and international relations. Our program model combines interdisciplinary coursework, robust internships, and social and cultural programming that helps students clarify who they are, what they want for their future, and how to get there. Students are immersed in a multicultural, co-living community and challenged to take a hands-on approach to their academic success and professional development.

 

BELL builds upon the success of the Bard Globalization and International Affairs (BGIA) program, which has helped 1500 alumni jumpstart their careers in foreign policy, journalism and new media, global public health, and political risk analysis since 2001. BELL extends the BGIA learning model to more disciplines — including art history, architecture, film, creative writing, dance, visual arts, urban studies, and music. New tracks in innovation and entrepreneurship, environmental and health sciences, and computer science are under development.
